Protein shakes, i need tips please!

Let me start by saying, um, Ewwwww.

I went to the doctor yeaterday for swollen nodes and all though they have no clue as to why that is, my blood work showed i am pretty protein deficent from all the vomitting ive done this pregnancy and my aversion to meats and dairy. She recommended protein bars twice a day. Ok, in my head thats super expensive because we are already stretched thin, so i get reccomendations on protein powder thinking it will save me some money as it is bulk.

Yall, ive never had one till today. I was told whey protein powder only and it literally feels like im drinking dirty water. All gritty and honestly bitter. I sweetened it a bit and its not as bad but holy cow these things should come with warning labels that it is not sensory freindly to the mouth lol. Is there another way to make these not so bad??
