Is it a requirement to get your carseat/base inspected?

Last delivery, my hospital required you to have someone inspect your carseat before you could leave the hospital with the baby. I guess if you don't have a base it would be to at least make sure you know how to do it properly?

I know we have to have one, but I don’t believe they check the base unless we ask them to, which they will for free.

They checked my firsts car seat before we left, but they didnt check the base to make sure it was in right
