Hardwood. The amount of times my 12 month old has grabbed diaper tash cream while i was using it and got it on carpet or formula spilled. Hardwood is so much easier

If you have hard wood floors, it’s nice (but not necessary) to put a rug down. It will cushion baby’s knees when he is playing on the floor.

I always think carpet, it’s just softer and more appealing for a baby... However, thinking about it a little more and I like the idea of hardwood with a large fluffy area rug!

We have hardwood and an area rug. The rug was nice for tummy time when my first was a baby but you could also just use a nice large blanket.

Ours is already carpet, so carpet! If it had been hardwood, we world have made that work, too. I'm all about minimum work!

Hardwood with a rug. Not a pricey one either. Kids are hard on carpet
