When did you wean baby from their pacifier?

We took it away at 4 months but she started sucking her thumb so we gave it back (our logic was that you can take away the pacifier but you can’t take away a thumb & we didn’t want her to be a thumbsucker). We only let her use it at nap time, bed time, or when she got shots. She quit using it on her own at 7 months & hasn’t sucked her thumb since (she’s 8 months now).

At 18 months she wasn’t really talking and the pediatrician recommended taking it away so she’d talk... I guess it worked?

He weaned himself at 10 months. One day he just wouldnt take it anymore.

My son self weaned by 6months, but we were planning on using it for a year

Well my son is 20 months and he let go like 2 weeks ago lol. Dr said it’s okay as long as it’s by 2 years old

I wish our son would have used a pacifier...although I also don't want to be like my SIL with her 3, 5, and 7 year olds still on one...pediatrician suggested by 2 when LO was born.
