Do you give friends who have toxic traits a second chance?

I don’t know why I feel so bad for cutting off a toxic friend. But I’ve given more than second chances.

When people show me who they are, I believe them. Also, everyone is replaceable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Every toxic person that I’ve given a second, or third, or fourth chance to has ended up effecting my life very very negatively and I wish I’d cut them off before it was too late. people like that rarely change, and only if they really want to

I've finally after years of toxic poisonous family members being waste of space cut them out of my life so at this point toxic friends are an easy walk away.
Honestly you don't have to commit to toxic people in your life no matter how close and if they don't bring anything to the table but grief and turmoil, they ain't sitting down.

Well if they do something shitty, depending on what it is, then yeah I’d probably give them a second chance. But if they consistently are an asshole and I decide I’m done with that, and they come back telling me they’ve changed, then no. I don’t give them a second chance at that point.

I cut off a toxic friend because she was treating me like her doormat, and wanted me to stop events with my husband to be with her. What drew the line was her complaining about him and being really rude. Saying my fur babies and responsibilities always "having to cut time short". I spent the night because she persisted, I had to work at 6am and she kept insisting that I stay and I would be fine. She kept me up until 3am. I felt like she valued herself over me so I just stopped talking to her over time.. she's one of those people who you can't explain things to because you get cut off.. it's better this way, did I do the right thing?

I gave a toxic friend far too many second chances and he still hasn’t changed. If I’d have cut him off from the start I wouldn’t have to live with him next year and I’m kicking myself so much now. (We’re at uni and the other people we’re living with are my friends so I’m not giving up living with them just because of him being a dickhead. But I’ve made it clear we are no longer friends and I despise him)

Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect. Maybe I’m too nice, but I tend to give everyone a second chance. After that, screw up again and you’re cut off.
