Is your spouse or father of your baby supportive of how long you want to breastfeed?

So my husband just asked me how long I planned on breastfeeding our daughter (4 months old) and I said at least 6 months or possibly a year. His response was “Who the fuck does that, that’s weird.” I informed him that a lot of people do it and some go even longer. I also told him that she needs either breastmilk or formula as her primary nutrition for up to a year, so why would I switch to formula if I didn’t have to.

I really don’t think he’s against me breastfeeding, it just surprised him because we hadn’t really talked about it before.

I’m just curious if other women have their spouse or the father of their baby’s support on their decisions breastfeed for as long as you choose?
