Nurses with piercings?

Hey guys so I'm an aspiring nurse with a lip and nose piercing. I'm pretty sure it just depends on the hospital but do you guys think its be acceptable for a nurse to have facial piercings?

Depending what department you work in it varies. It's usually not about being "accepted" but more about your safety. Having piercings can be dangerous with certain patients.

Im chronically ill and have had many nurses in hospitals and doctors offices with piercings and tattoos. However i see them more often in hospitals, im not sure if hospitals generally care less about that or what!

Depending on where you want to work will depend on what you’re allowed. Each workplace or trust has a uniform policy and the details will be in there. It will also depend on how strict they are about the policy. Where I work you’re allowed one set of earrings and a nose piercing, both studs, and possibly a tongue piercing (but obviously you won’t see that one as much), whilst at work I believe.

I'm not sure what the hospital rules are (I'm assuming they'd vary based on location) but both are becoming more socially acceptable. I would have absolutely no problems with my nurse having either and I have seen nurses with them in the past. I think the rules will change to be more inclusive eventually if they aren't already
