Weaning and sad- what’s your experience??

What’s your experience?? My LO will be a year and that is when I have decided to wean him. I will miss breastfeeding and am so sad with the thought of it. How did you cope??

I weaned both my children at one year. With my first it was very tough and I was extremely emotional. I missed the bond. Once I started to wean my second born I guess I was ready to have my body back in a sense. I loved every minute of breastfeeding but it was nice to go back to normal bras and not worry about nursing/pumping so often. I plan to breastfeed this little one until a year as well.

Why wean him? One year is just an arbitrary period.  Breastfeeding is highly beneficial past one year. The WHO recommends 2 years.

My daughter will be a year in November and I’ve been wondering the same thing. It’s going to be so hard!
