MEXICAN TEA?? 🤔🤔

This is a bit of a random question, but I was wondering if anyone had any answers.. my husband is Mexican and his mom makes this tea for him periodically that’s called Brickellia Grandiflora also called Prodigiosa or Hamula.

He claims “it’s for the nerves” aka he feels better after drinking it when he’s suuupper stressed out. My confusion is here: I’ve researched the tea a bit, but I have found ZERO info about this particular tea helping with stress and/or anxiety, or even just having calming effects whatsoever. It’s primarily used for digestion help, blood sugar problems, liver bile and things of that nature.

I don’t want to tell my husband about what I’ve found on the tea, because I don’t want to ruin his only form of stress relief if it’s just mental.

My question: IS it just mental? Or is there something I don’t know about it? Could it depend on the specific kind? Is this an old Mexican tradition? I’ve just been wondering this for a long while now, and just recently my husband got more form his mom so I figured id post the question here, I usually get pretty decent answers to most questions, so I thought I’d ask!
