I had sex 8 days ago and my period is 3 days late. Is it too early to take a pregnancy test??

Ovulation happens approximately 14 days before your period is supposed to start. If the only time you had sex was 8 days ago you missed your fertile window; however, if your period is late you can definitely take a test.

If you just had sex 8 days ago you probably were already done ovulating. It also takes at least 6 days for pregnancy to occur so unless you had sex during your fertile week you wouldn't have enough HCG to show on a test yet just after 8 days. If you did have sex during your fertile week though you should be able to test and it show up now since you're late.
