Do you normally bleed when your cysts rupture? (Just diagnosed)

I was diagnosed with PCOS after a sharp pain and then bright red bleeding. Is that what you normally have?

For those that bleed, how do you tell the difference between a cyst and your period? I hurt all the time.

It is different for everyone. I just get a lot of clear, wet discharge and pain when a cyst ruptures. But deffinately worth pushing for answers. Good luck
