Still refusing the bottle

Erika • Mom of 2

My daughter is 12 weeks old and is still refusing the bottle. We have tried all sorts of different bottles and different flow nipples, and no luck. My husband usually tries and then if he has no luck, then I try. I can usually get her to latch on, but she doesn't really drink much. We had to leave her with my in-laws this morning. I fed her before we left, and I was hoping that since we can usually get her to latch, that she would drink more from the bottle when she was hungry. No such luck! I get a text from my MIL that she's really crying. We rushed home when we could, and she was screaming her head off. My poor MIL looked like she was on the verge of tears. She's a worrier and anxious anyway, so this didn't help. I was able to feed my daughter and put her down for a nap. I was only gone for 4 hours, but I feel horrible. My husband and I are both professional singers at a church, so we have to figure out what to do for next Sunday. There is a nursery at church, so I may bring her with us so I can breastfeed her when I have a break. That could work in the short term, but I would still like her to be able to take a bottle if we need it. I think I may try a sippy cup and see if she would drink better from that. Has anyone done that before? I have a bunch of different sippy cups from my son that I can try.
