How do I ask for clomid ??

Hi I’m 20 years old me and my bf have been trying g to get pregnant for 6-7 months now and still have no luck I’m embarrassed to ask my Obgyn for medication to get pregnant or in general on how to get pregnant I’m scared that she might denied all the medication cause I’m still young a over weight any recommendations on what I should do ?

A doctor won't prescribe anything unless you've been trying for a year or more if you're younger than maybe 35. It takes a healthy couple on average a year to conceive. I'm 26 and have been trying for 3 years for my second pregnancy/first child and am just getting answers and help within the last 6 months.

You’ve only been trying 6 months. Make sure you are tracking your ovulation and not relying on Glow, you’ll be surprised how much of a difference that makes. Good luck.

You probably need to wait at least another 6 months before a doctor will prescribe anything, but not every doctor cares about your weight. I’m 300 lbs and my doctor didn’t even say anything about my weight. I was diagnosed with PCOS and she prescribed Clomid right away. So, not every doctor is a jerk about weight!

I think you should just ask...My obgyn is amazing. I’m 23 and ttc my 2nd. My dr tested me I ovulate normally and suggested I lose weight. I lost 25 pounds and still nothing. He sent over a Clomid prescription after 5 months of trying....I still want to try naturally until the end of this year and if still nothing then I’ll start it then.

I would start by tracking a month with bbt and opks to see if you are able to identify ovulation and your doctor will want to see it if you do eventually have to go in.

Are you ovulating is the first question...not sure if you need clomid if you are ovulating.  Either way, best to have honest conversation with your provider about your concerns.  As you are 20, they will ask that you wait a year.
