How easy was it to get the job and how did you do it?

As a bar manager, I can tell you the best way to get a job as a bartender is to start as a server. Learn the restaurant, learn the menu and let your manager know you are interested in the position. Once you’ve done it for a while and picked up your pace and gotten the flow down at that point you should consider moving to a bar only environment. It’s a rough job but the money is worth it.
