ParaGard Iud and Tokophobia

Hi ladies! I’m a 25 year old from Cali who just switched birth control from Nexplanon to a ParaGard. No shade to the Nexplanon but I’m already overweight, the Nexplanon had me pack on about 40-50 lbs and made it difficult for me to lose weight as well as take away my cycle (which I didn’t mind). I decided to go with the ParaGard since it’s highly affective, and I’m in a long term monogomas relationship and we both aren’t ready for children. I had it inserted in July 31st, ( for those of you wondering what it feels like, it’s like a nauseas inducing cramp, I’ve had worse but still it wasn’t pleasant) I waited about two weeks before getting my strings checked (since hearing horror stories about iud’s falling out and I have minor tokophobia) and she said the strings were perfect. I had another check up at the very end, waited about 30 days to check the strings since I couldn’t feel them and neither could my lover, who has WAY longer fingers than me. My gynecologist informed me that I have an incredibly DEEP cervix, so deep that I wouldn’t feel the strings if I even tried to reach for them, and that my strings had curled around it . I asked her then... how tf do I feel the strings? She suggested I don’t. If something was wrong I would definitely feel it, ex: horrific cramps, pain, followed by heavy, heavy bleeding and a fever. She told me the more I go looking for the strings the more like I may be to accidentally tug them. My question or rather why I’m here is I’m curious about everyone else’s experience with the IUD? So far I haven’t had any problems, but I’m always super paranoid of being that 1% or having it misplaced or “fall out”. Please and thank you!
