Any Attorney’s out there?

Idk if any of you have law experience or anything but I feel like you ladies are the only ones I can come to right now 😞, I have an ex husband that co signed on a car for me 2 days before we signed divorce papers and in the divorce paper work it said we had 3 months to get his name off. Well I couldn’t get his name off because my credit isn’t good enough yet. A year has passed and now he filed a contempt of court order because I didn’t get it off in 3 months and he is threatening to sue me for what I’m upside down in the car (10,000) I tried to get a new car this last weekend and trade in this car but without a big down payment or co-signer I can’t get out of this car! Can he really sue me for the negative equity and take the car?
