Has anyone ever had an IUD? Do they recommend it?

Yes, Ive had one. No, I don’t recommend one to anyone. The list of side effects is long and scary- 
And to top it off, they’re not the fool-proof BC the drs make them out to be.... I became pregnant with my son while on the Mirena.

Yes I’ve had no I didn’t recommend it. Mine moved completely into where it shouldn’t have been and had to be surgically removed because of  it.

I’ve had my Mirena IUD for 3-4 months now. I highly recommend it. Placement was a terrible experiment ( I was kept for 4 hours after due to complications) second day I had it no pain, no bleeding, acne has gone away. I’ve had no issues with it since the second day, me and my fiancé don’t use condoms and periods have completely gone away!

I had the no hormone iud and after I got it in I had my period for 3 weeks outta a month for 7 months straight. I got it taken out and did Nuva ring witch worked great

I would not recommend it, although every woman’s body reacts differently to different birth controls. My experience with an IUD was horrible. I had a few side effects that were just..gross and I spotted heavily for over 6 months. Not worth it.

I had one for 8 months and I liked parts of it a lot. It’s really nice to not have to worry about a daily pill and don’t have to think about it. But my vagina smelled really bad.. I continued to get BV (bacterial vaginosis) and yeast infections. I have never had one before and got treated 3 times in 8 months... and my vagina smelt so bad (naturally smells very good). Until I got it out I didn’t think other things that were happening to me were connected to Mirena but now I am convinced. Due to the hormone changes I was depressed for a month or two and also had extreme fatigue.  I just got it taken out this week and now I am scared of the “Mirena crash” that I keep looking into. Many women have amazing experiences and many women do not. My advice would be to keep doing research and look and really learn more about it.. I didn’t and wish I would have.

I just got the mirena alittle less than a week ago so I can’t make a great review on how it is long term. But the placement did hurt, I didn’t cramp too much after like some girls do, i did cramp but they were tolerable. I haven’t bled at all since it was placed in (I was on depo right before switching to mirena and bled every single day constantly while on it so this is a huge accomplishment lol!!) but I do have heavy discharge coming from me, which I have a check up in 4 weeks with my doctor and if its not stopped by then I will be bringing it up but love that I didn’t cramp/bleed like some females experience with IUDS!! 😭

I’ve got the mirena and I absolutely would recommend it! I still use condoms as back up though

I don’t recommend until after you’ve decided you’re done with having kids.
