Is your 2 year old getting the flu shot?

I’ve been feeling the pressure from my son’s pediatrician and daycare to make sure I get his flu shot. I’m not a fan of it for myself and I’m on the fence getting it for my son. We opted out last year as he was watched by grandma at home now I’m second guessing it because he is in a daycare setting. Looking for some input please!

We personally choose to not get the flu vaccine. My children are fully vaccinated otherwise I just don’t like the flu shot. We get pressured a lot from the pediatrician but it’s a personal choice for us. If my kids tended to get sick easy or were in daycare I may have different feeling about it. Instead we do lots of hand washing, wiping things we touch often down daily with Clorox wipes and lots of Lysol through the flu season. My older 2 kids also take a probiotic daily.

I want my daughter to have every little bit of protection possible. Flu can be devastating the younger and older you are. Both Dad and I work in contact with lots of people so likely to bring it home with us.

It was required for my son to be in daycare, but I think that is a state requirement where I live.

My son is allergic to eggs and it’s made with eggs so he hasn’t gotten it. I got it to protect him and so did my husband, and we BOTH got the flu last year. So ... 😐

I have a 3 month old, so my 2 year old got the flu shot partially to protect his baby brother but also to protect himself. A child has already died of the flu this year.

In February my son had the flu which caused him and I to be out of school/work for a whole week. I wasn’t thinking last year but this year he is getting it.
