I've been on maternity leave for almost 6 months, I'm taking 9 months off. I'm still trying to sort out child care and my hours. I'm a full timer but I think I'm going to try returning part time to start with. My mum retires in November and has said she'll watch my boy a couple of days a week, she lives about half hour away from me. I think my boy will be ok without me for about 6 hours a day (whether or not I'll be ok is another story!!) My sister has 2 kids both in school now but isn't keen on helping me for 2 days a week and says she's done all of that before twice. She's a sahm. I'm willing to pay her. I think I need to work as I find it hard sometimes to entertain my boy every day, especially when the weather is too rubbish to go out in (I'm from the UK so the weather is always shit). How did you guys find returning to work?
