Pads or Adult diapers?

Question

I’m stuck between which ones I should get for after birth bleeding. What was great for you ladies mesh underwear or pads? Does it depend on your bleeding but I wouldn’t know if I will bleed a lot until the day comes. How long does the bleeding last for? How many packs should I need to buy? Help!! I’m 34 weeks so far

In the hospital they gave me (well I took) this huuuuuuuge as pads literally from your bellybutton all the way to your back I used those for like a week and then used regular pads.

I used night time pads for two weeks there is allot of blood ngl you need something which will hold allot because as soon as you get up to do something it’s awful and a trip to change it even if you just did is needed.

I remember the first couple days after birth when i was still in the hospital and couldn’t move much after a c section, every now and then I would feel a giant hush of blood just fall out of me and it was sooo gross. It must have looked like a horror movie. When I went to take a shower for the first time the nurse specifically said to me “don’t be alarmed by the amount of blood.” The pads they give you in the hospital are AWFUL!! They don’t stay in place at all and there was sooo much leaking. I ended up getting a pack of the most heavy duty Always pads i could find. They’re purple, called something like mega overnight and they’re longer and thicker than most and have wings to help keep them in place. That’s what I used when I got home and never had any issues!

I used the huge hospital pads for 4 days, then went to super long overnight with wings. But I needed pads for 4-5 weeks for post-partum, and then when I got my IUD put back in at 6wks PP, my first period happened, so then I needed them again.

I used adult diapers for the first few days at home (had the giant pads in hospital), then switched to overnight pads at about 4 days pp. At 3weeks pp I started using a lighter pad.

I needed the huge hospital pads for about two or three days, then used adult diapers for a week or two. They make not-too-awful ones that look sort of like underwear and aren’t bulky.

Well, I haven’t given birth yet BUT my best friend did a little over a year ago and the nurses at her hospital were horrible. I ended up being the one to help her change her PP underwear and pads for the two days after birth. Seeing how much blood there is firsthand, I’m going to use the really large overnight pads inside of the mesh underwear that pulls up over the belly. I’m making padsicles with the pads (add aloe and witch hazel then roll back up and stick in the freezer) for some cooling relief. And this isn’t related to the question but I’m also going to fill small non-chemical based condoms with water and freeze to insert internally if need be.

I got these really comply purple diapers I had a c section n they were the comfiest thing to wear they helped compress the area n also I don't have to deal with the huge pads they give u slipping around all over the place.
