Is a playpen or a bassinet better for a newborn ?

This is that I have, (without the blanket) was wondering if a bassinet would work better for a newborn

A bassinet might work better for you in the beginning, I’m sure it will be painful to bend over? I have a playpen but it has a bassinet connected on top

A playpen like that is only for short term use like when you need to put bub down at a friend's house or on holidays. No where near supportive enough. Hardly any padding and of course no blankets allowed

Yes it’s used for a short time, but night time feeding, especially if you are nursing, I loved our playpen with the bassinet top. I would put her right next to the side of our bed and then it was an easy transition and I didn’t have to get up. Once she got too big, then I’d have to nurse, figure out how to get out of the bed without waking her, then pick her up and carefully lean in to put her down. Is it an absolute necessity- no. But it would be one of my top wants.

My fiancé and I were just debating this. We found a nice Graco one that comes with a bassinet and changing station on top which we both liked. After going to add it on my registry on amazon I also found one that has a full sized bassinet that goes on top as well. Both are made by graco.

bassinet is at a much better height especially when you have to get bubs up every few hours

I’ve just moved my 10 week old in to one of these as she was getting too big for Moses basket - I wouldn’t have a basket again as they’re used for such a small amount of time I felt it was a waste x
