Dressing girls alike?

Question

So I have a 15 month old daughter and I’m 24 weeks with another girly. 
I bought some clothes which was in both her next size and for when baby comes so they can dress the same on the odd occasions. I mean it’s my baby I can dress them how I want right? 
My MIL thinks I’m stupid for doing so she said they will look stupid they ain’t twins. I’m not making them things fgs I said but she just replied I would never have done that. ( she doesn’t have two the same sex children anyways) she said well make sure they dress different when I have them or I won’t take them out. She never fricking looks after my daughter I have now as she can’t cope with her at nap time. 
Am I wrong for wanting to dress them alike?.

I had 4 stairstep girls and dressed them alike! Not every day, but like you said, certain occasions. People LOVED it! Turned heads everywhere they went! 😘

I have 3 boys now but when my two were younger, I always had matching shirts for them. They’re your kids. Dress them how you want. I think everyone else thinks it’s cute out in public.!

Omg heck no! Girl dolly them up all you like! They YOUR kids, your babies. Id be like excuse you, if thats the attitude youre gunna have then you wont have them at all. She could at least respect you as their mother and what you say goes. Anyone else can lump it! Im so blessed to have an understanding MIL that will step back when asked and can be approached about anything. She & her family have a thing with kissing their children/babies on the lips and I was having none if that. Its not me and not the way Im raising my child. I had to even tell my husband to kindly ask her to stop kissing him on the lips. She loves very intensely and with ALOT of affection which is sweet but can be overbearing at times. His lips are for mine, she was sad but respected that we needed this boundary.

I think it looks cute. Maybe because I see it all the time here in Japan. Little sister and older sister wear matching clothes quite often. 
It’s not common and thought to be rather cheesy where I’m from though 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I see plenty of parents do it I don’t see the issue they’re your children as long as they’re dressed and happy I really wouldn’t take a second thought.

They’re your kids. She can just deal. My cousin has 2 twin girls and another daughter a few years younger than them and dresses them all the same pretty much all the time. Personally I wouldn’t just because I wouldn’t want to buy the same outfit multiple times. Just seems like a waste of money to do it all the time, but I don’t see it being a big deal if it was just for random occasions though.

My daughter and I wear matching outfits all the time - and we definitely aren’t twins!
I think it’s adorable - as long as it isn’t every day. But it’s so nice when you go out because it’s easy to find one another if you get separated! And pictures are super cute!
