Insurance coverage for infertility?

Does anyone have insurance that covers infertility (diagnostic tests and treatments)? What is the name of your insurance company?

Depends on your plan- and location.  I have blue cross blue shield and all diagnostic tests were covered and now I have a $10,000 lifetime max on infertility treatment. Seems like a lot, but it's going pretty quickly!

Tricare. They cover diagnostics and treatments using timed intercourse. For example, it will cover IUI with time intercourse, not IUI with insemenation. They will cover labs and ultrasounds for IVF, but not the IVF itself. It not only varies from insurnace to insurance, but also from state to state. Some states are more fertility friendly than others bc of state laws mandating it. Blue Cross Blue Shield in Florida may cover something totally different than Blue Cross Clue Sheild in Illinois.

I've started the bloodwork for infertility and have discovered that Blue Cross Blue Shield does not cover any portion of infertility testing or treatments. Three days of blood work will be $900.
