How long after stopping?

I am on the birth control pill, and I plan on stopping it soon, because my husband and I want to start trying for our first baby :) in everyone's experience, how long after stopping the pill does it take to be able to get pregnant? My OBGYN mentioned it could take up to a year, but I want to know from others experiences.

I stopped taking it 3 months before TTC (some studies say increased risk of birth defects, some say no issues). First month TTC (so 4 months after stopping the pill, but 1st month not using a condom) we got pregnant. I was shocked, expecting at least 3-6 month TTC. I was on the pill for 15 years (period related reasons). I'm 31. Good luck! Be sure to already be taking prenatals!

Straight away! !! I was off my pill for about 2 months and now I'm pregnant. . It'd actually more likely for someone to fall pregnant when they come off the pill due to hormones etc xxl

Took me 7 months. But i took ovulation tests.
