When did you get your period after giving birth?

I’m two weeks postpartum from a C-section and breastfeeding, if that makes a difference. Wondering when I might get my period, I’ve read online everything from 3 weeks postpartum up to a year? 😳
Also, maybe stupid question but how do you know it’s your period? I’m still bleeding from having baby so how would I know it’s my period or just my body going through the normal postpartum thing.

I had 2 weeks of postpartum bleeding and than got my period at 5 weeks pp and I was breastfeeding so it’s possible to get it much earlier than a year

I breastfed for 15 months. It wasn’t until I started cutting back on feedings at 13 months that I got my period back.

Since you're breastfeeding you may not get your period for 6 months. I see most women get there's at 8-9 months but I read the average is 14 months. I'm 6 months pp and breastfeeding and still don't have a period.

Girl you got a while you won’t have it until a month or so after your bleeding stops it could be longer. I gave birth in October stopped breastfeeding and bleeding around 4 weeks and had a period at Christmas

I was breastfeeding as well. I got my first period about 4 months pp but it wasn’t regular. My next one after that was about 2 months. Then another 2. Then my little one was feeding less frequently and they got back to normal. 
It depends on so many things, your body, how frequently your baby feeds/you pump.   
Once your pp bleeding stops the next time you start bleeding is your period.

I’m exclusively breastfeeding and had a c-section; got my period on week 5. I bled for 3 weeks post birth then had mucus for the following 2 weeks. I was surprised but my OB said everyone is different and my body was just getting back to normal. I had no period like symptoms either such as cramps. My milk supply is still good too so don’t worry about that myth of your supply dipping during menstruation. There is no one answer for this question... Be grateful if you haven’t gotten it yet tho lol.

My bleeding lasted 6-7 weeks. I didn’t get my period until 7-8 months and now 14 months post baby my cycle is back to its regular cycle. Im not on bc either.
