I don’t know what happened

Back when I was in 5th grade I was friend with this boy who liked me but I wasn’t sure if I liked him. One day we were walking to our class and he said he had a ring and then he stuck is hand in my sweater pocket and got really close to touching my vagina but I smacked his hand away. I didn’t know what it was at the time but I was thinking about it recently. I don’t know if that’s sexual assault or whatever. It sounds dumb but it made me so uncomfortable and I can’t look at him without freezing in fear (he’s an actual psychopath). I’ve been asking the question for about a year now and I still don’t know if him almost touching my vagina counts as sexual assault, (he did touch my pelvis area just not my actual vagina).

Oh yeah and he didn’t even have a ring in the first place.
