Needing advice..

So my boyfriend and I live together in a 2 bedroom apt soon to be 3 w/ our baby coming in March. Currently we have a dog who is about 8 mths old and he literally destroys everything he has put holes in the carpet and the kitchen floor. There are potty stains on the carpet as well and I have literally had it with this pup. I want him to get rid of the dog so we can get everything cleaned and fixed before the baby comes and he wants to try and keep the dog. Would it be wrong for me to kick him out if he chooses not to get rid of the dog? I just don't want my baby crawling around a nasty place and this is honestly stressing me out.
