I cheated on my college boyfriend one time and I told him about it right away because I felt horrible. That same boyfriend cheated on me multiple times during our 2.5 year relationship and not one time did he tell me. I always found out from someone else. It all comes down to the person. SOME people change, others just don't. 
Also I've never had the inclination to cheat since that incident. It's honestly a terrible feeling.

I'm gonna be honest... I've cheated on my current bf and ended up telling him after he asked and i felt terrible abt it. However now he doesn't trust me and is constantly holding it against me, I don't blame him. I have changed and have no desire whatsoever to do it again but I don't think he sees it that way. So I think it hurts the person who is being cheated on more than the cheater. But speaking from experience if the person has the desire to change they will.

I do believe that people can change, but I also believe that it’s rare to find those who do change.
