Belated Birthday Present

I had the most shocking birthing experience, one that was completely unplanned and unexpected.

Was induced on Friday, 7th of September due to the fact that baby was measuring big and it was safer for him to come sooner rather than later. I had the balloon inside me at 6pm Friday until 6pm Saturday (My birthday) and I was 3cm dilated. My waters broke at 3am Sunday but my contractions never started. I was moved to the labour ward and was put on the hormone drip Pitocin at 3pm. From 3pm to 3am I had mad crazy contractions which I did with only gas and air because I didn’t want the epidural. At 3am, when I was checked I was only 4cm dilated. At this point I was exhausted and also at increased risk of infection due to the fact my waters were gone for 24 hours so I had to have an emergency caesarean and baby was born at 4:10am on 10th of September.

My lovely Ezekiel is perfect in every way.
