When does 2nd trimester start?

I saw somewhere it was 14 weeks but this app is already considering it to be the 2nd trimester at 12 weeks.

When you 12 weeks you are in your 13th week so once you hit 13 weeks it's the second trimester

It's because If you split pregnancy into 3 it would be 13.3 weeks so some go by 13 and others by 14 :)

I always thought week 13 was the start. However, I just got the blood test done where they take your first trimester blood and second trimester blood and combine them. For the first trimester blood I had until 13 weeks + 6 days for them to draw it- so apparently officially the 2nd trimester begins at 14 weeks!

I have never seen 12. It's either 13 or 14, depending on what resource you use.
