They literally just claim the baby as theirs. As if he doesn’t have a whole other side of the family.

They only acknowledge that he’s Filipino. But he’s also white. And above that, he’s AMERICAN. I want him to know his American traditional side as well. In the ultrasound his face looks a lot like mine, and my Grandmother in-law said to my face “I don’t want him to look like you, I want him to look like his dad and the rest of us. I guess I’m biased” basically “he can’t look white” but he is half white.

I’m grateful for them since they are very welcoming, but they need to understand that he’s mine and my husbands baby not theirs. And they aren’t his only family. I really feel like they just forget my side of the family because he’s going to be the first half white baby in the family 😔
