Having a period while being pregnant?

Have you had a period while being pregnant? I know it can happen because it happened to my friend and every girl in her family. So I’m just curious if it’s a really rare thing?

It happened to my grandmother. She was pregnant and did not know because AF showed up on time every month. She didn’t find out she was pregnant until 5 months in when her baby was moving and my great grandmother was telling her it was a tumor (this was in Bravo, NL Mexico). grandma went to the doctor who told her “ma’am this tumor of yours has legs and arms, it’s a baby” Funniest thing ever!

With my daughter, I didn’t find out I was pregnant until 12 weeks along because I never missed my period. It came exactly on schedule every month my whole pregnancy and lasted my normal 4-5 days. It didn’t happen that way with my boys though.

You can not have an actual period and remain pregnant. A period is the shedding of your uterine lining. That can’t happen and have a pregnancy continue. Not possible. That said, there are multiple reasons you can have bleeding during pregnancy. Subchorionic hemorrhage, placenta previa, etc.
