UTI Prevention
Hey, ladies!
I’m already super prone to UTI’s, but I’m 14 weeks & have already had two of them during my pregnancy. I am currently on a round of antibiotics, but it ends today & I am not feeling 100% better.
We’re traveling to New York for the weekend, so if I don’t feel that it has cleared up by tomorrow morning, I will be calling to request an appointment either late Monday afternoon or first thing Tuesday morning (when we get back into town).
I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to help prevent future UTI’s/assist in the healing process of this one. I have pretty much cut out all caffeine (which I was never really drinking more than a cup of coffee per day) & I picked up some sugar-free cranberry juice yesterday. I used to take a cranberry tablet daily & I know that drinking cranberry juice isn’t as effective, but until I go back to the doctor & get permission to take them again, I don’t want to risk it.
I’m wearing cotton underwear and looser, breathable clothing. I’m not washing “down there” with anything other than water. I’m drinking water like a fish. I’m emptying my bladder every chance I get. I’ve cut out baths. I don’t know what else I could do at this point. 😭 Please tell me someone else has experienced this! And give me any suggestions you might have!!
