How much water does your baby drink a day?

Do they drink any at all? My baby is 8 1/2 months and has a sip a day if that. She’s interested in water and can drink it no problem. I just figured since she’s smaller it would just be best to give her my milk instead- but I don’t want her falling behind on milestones.

They don’t need to drink any water until after a year old. Breastmilk is mostly water and as long as you’re doing regular nursing sessions, and she has at least 4-6 wet diapers a day, she’s plenty hydrated. My daughter is a month younger and I was only giving her a tiny bit of water during the super hot summer days. Our pediatrician said not to give her more than 4 oz of water a day, but that it’s not necessary to give her any at all.

I give my daughter a sippy cup of water with each solid meal I help her take one sip and then I leave the cup because she doesn’t need to drink water but it’s more to help her learn to use the cup. I show her how to use it and then I let her play with it. Usually it ends up on the floor but sometimes she drinks it.

I give my son 3 to 4 oz. A day so he can practice with his sippy cup and he enjoys playing with it. Plus with his constipation now he is supposed to be drinking 2 to 3 oz. Oh pedialyte 3 times a day, every day.

I give my baby water after each meal. She drinks 3-4 oz a day. I don’t give her milk right away after serving cereal, fruits or vegetables so I give water because she will be thirsty and I see that she really likes to drink water after finishing her meals.
