I was induced at 41+4  with the pessary initially. I began feeling contractions within a few hours that felt like bad period pains. They continued through the night and the next morning until the pessary fell out 🙈 they assessed me and I was ready for my waters to be broken which was next step. I didn’t get down to L&D until the next day!! Due to lack of space in the hospital. In the meantime I was having very painful contractions regularly. I got assessed the next morning and was 9cms dilated and was ready to go! So I was rushed down to L&D, had my waters broken and an IV put in for the pitocin. Once pitocin was involved and my waters were broken the contractions ramped up in frequency and pain. I began pushing a few hours later. My girl was delivered with venteuse after 3 hours of pushing - she was posterior so there was no way she was coming on her own! She was also 9lb 9 so she had a massive head that wouldn’t budge 😂 all in all it wasn’t a great experience but I was really unhappy with the lack of care in the hospital, the actual delivery itself went fine. In terms of pain levels, I genuinely found it better than I expected. It was painful but I’m pregnant again and in no way worried about that side of things this time around.

I wasn't induced. I couldn't be. I did have a successful VBAC last year. With a small drip of Pitocin I'd say remember your breathing techniques. Don't get your epidural too soon because it may wear off and keep the lights dim as much as possible. I walked (wireless monitoring) danced and tried to sleep

My induction went flawlessly! I slept through my pitocin contractions. Once they broke my water, I asked for the epidural. Slept like a baby once that was placed until it was time to push! I was admitted to the hospital at 4pm and had my son at 7:30am. If you’re able, eat before you go to the hospital because you won’t be able to until you’re in your post-partum room.
