Taking prenatal while TTC?

Question for the mamas out there. Did you take prenatals (specifically folic acid) while you were trying to conceive? How early before you started trying did you start taking it? My hubby and I will be going from "avoiding prengancy" to TTC soon and I was trying to figure out when I should start taking them! TIA!

I take a prenatal as my daily vitamin. Whether I'm ttc or pregnant. It's good for woman of child bearing age to take even if avoiding pregnancy.

My obgyn said to take prenatals for 3 months before ttc ( this was right after stoping birth control). Good luck

I started taking them after my last period finished. My doctor recommended them if I was going to ttc. I have been on them for a month. I will be testing in about a week.

I was on prenatals for two months and found out I am pregnant yesterday. I was told to be on them at least a month before ttc. And it worked, cause here I am in month two, pregnant! Good luck and baby dust!

I started taking them on valentine's day and conceived about a month later. I also used preseed though so maybe that helped too.

I been ttc for a while now i been on prenatal for i think a month and half so go ahead is never to early or to late is good that way u be ready... i love the VitaFusion gummy ones with folic acid

I started a few months before I came off birth control. We aren't trying, but the folic acid (and dha, I think) are super important during the first 25 days of growth. And by the time most people find out they're pregnant, they're already most of the way through that window, or completely past it. So it's good to get your levels up ahead of time, and then continue keeping them up in case you get pregnant.

Yes!! I started taking prenatals while still on the pill and ended up getting pregnant right away. My doc said its good to have the folic acid in your system because the brain starts developing super early. I was

Started taking prenatals in January and pregnant three months later. Definitely take them- it only helps!
