The pill side effects?

Im about to start up on the pill this Sunday! I want to know if any of you ladies could share your experiance with this form of bc... I'm just curious because I may switch to the implant so any advice would be amaze! Thanks!

I'm on birth control, and will be for 3 years this December. I'm 17. Positive side effects include acne control, periods are predictable and lighter, cramps are a thing of the past. Negative side effects are that for the first month or so your acne gets bad at first, because of the increase of hormones. You'll have a slight weight gain (I went from 120 to 128) but it's mainly water. Hormones are also more extreme.

First it's something you have you try for about a month to see good side effects. Bad side affect may happen more quickly at first because your body is not used to the added hormones. I have been on it for 3 years I'm 21. I advise you above all else make sure you take it on time every day! That's the only way you will get what you want out of the pill without have I deal with any major bad side effects. Please please take it on time!!

Oh sorry, also I took mine right before bed so it was the last thing I did at the end of my day. It may give you an upset stomach, that's why I'd take mine with juice and right before bed cuz then I wasn't running around feeling sick. I was sleeping. Also up your intake of water. I never found it made me gain weight though. But depending on how old you are if someone finds out they may criticize you for it. I didn't have sex till I was 17 and I or criticized for being on it to control excessive bleeding and anemia.

I was the pill for 12 years, it's wonderful. Some months I woulnt even get a full period, just spotting and for me that was great cuz I developed anemia from heavy painful irregular periods when I was 13. I got so sick! Only advice I have is don't have sex without a condom for at least 2 weeks of active pills. And just to be safe for you first month use a condom the whole month while your taking them, and I got pregnant with my son because no one told me that antibiotics make it not work. So if your on any kind of antibiotics at a condom then too.

I've been on the pill since 2003, it's amazing. I love the acne control, the no baby control, the cramp control, and the flow control. Sometimes there is mid cycle cramping, an acne burst at the beginning of taking it, or even spotting... With regular usage you will (hopefully) reap more benefits with the pill than negatives.
​One tip I wish someone would have mentioned to me sooner was to set an alarm on your phone to remind you to take it at the same time everyday. You can be a few hours late with most pill brands, but be careful not to skip any days or miss any pills.
