Acne after stopping the Pill... Does it ever get easier?
I came off the Pill in March after being on it for 16 years. I had a feeling my skin would be bad when I stopped. It was fine, surprisingly, at first but started breaking out in June. Now, it's on my face, chest and back.
My dermatologist said I could try a month of antibiotics but since I'm trying to conceive, it's not the ideal solution.
My cycles have been relatively normal, although they're starting to get shorter - this past one was only 20 days.
I'm seeing a naturopath soon to try to help.
I can cover the acne fairly well with makeup and I've been wearing collared shirts to hide my back. Today was the first day I didn't want to leave the house because it just looked so bad. I'm trying to keep it in perspective but I just want to feel normal again.
Will it get easier? Will my hormones level out? Should I ask my family doctor for some sort of hormonal testing?
