Pyelectasis- any other Jan babies w/ this?

Hi! 20 weeks and 3 days here! I’m 34, will be 35 when I deliver. Had my anatomy scan today and they told me that the baby has Pyelectasis which is related to the Kidneys and is common. However BC of my age, they recommended that I do the NIPT to be certain that the baby does not have Downs Syndrome BC Pyelectasis can be related to Downs. My sequential screening came back neg and there were no signs of Downs in my last to ultrasounds. Has anyone else had Pyelectasis, looking to hear what your experience has been? Even though they think the chance of the baby having Downs is low I’m still very nervous.

Hey my baby was diagnosed with this! We were sent to fetal medicine specialist after this came up at our 20w. Ours has been diagnosed as Pyelectasis/mild hydronephrosis. They are having me back in 6 weeks to keep an eye on things and they also wanted me to do the genetic testing despite no other markers for Downs and no age-related risk factors. I was told that this is something to keep an eye on but is totally livable, may self correct in its own, and if it doesn’t then could entail intervention such as ultrasounds after birth and blood work to make sure baby doesn’t have any issues with it that develop over time. Ours was a pretty big dilation 10mm and 8mm so is less likely to self correct but worst case scenario could require a minor procedure after birth to fix a kidney duct or blockage or something. It seems super common as an abnormality and most cases I’m reading of it have self corrected by next US or before birth. I wouldn’t worry too much

I’m 22w4d and I’ll be 30 when little one comes. I went for my anatomy scan at 19w6d and they saw dilation of the kidneys on my little boy. They sent me to a maternal fetal medicine specialist for a better scan and I went at 20w4d. They said that it’s more common in boys than girls and it happens in about 5% of normal pregnancies. The specialist had no concerns because it was only minor fluid. He said for me to come back at 32 weeks for another check to see if it went away or gets worse. I had the NIPT blood work done at 12 weeks and everything came back normal. So they said with the normal blood work and only minor fluid that they have no concerns for downs or any other issues.
