Day care for new borns???

For some people there is no choice but to put them in day care. I'm a lucky one that my mother in law offered to watch for the first 6 months to a year. Good luck!

I was lucky my mom watched my son until he was 20 months when I was finally able to stay home. Unfortunately that isn't always an option for everyone. Definitely ask other moms in the area, Google reviews, go on visits etc. you can't be too choosey about who watches your children!

I am lucky and work in a daycare. My baby will be going back to work with me and my best friend is the nursery teacher, so I'm double blessed. If I weren't working there, or she wasn't the teacher I would be super hesitant too. You have to do your research by asking parents who have had their children their and their input.

In my state (MN), most in home daycares do not take newborns (less than 6 weeks) because it impacts the number of children they can have dramatically.

If I have to, I will. But if I don't absolutely have to, I wont do it.

My first was in daycare at 2 months old and I don't regret it at all. My work only offered 8 weeks short term disability and we don't have any family nearby. Daycare has been amazing for our little one and I am doing everything possible so we can afford to have both kids go after my second is born.
