Did membrane sweeping help you go into labor?

I’m 40 weeks tomorrow and my dr is going to sweep my membranes. I’ve never had it done before since I’m a first time mom so any advice would be great 😁

I was 40 weeks and a day, they offered to sweep at my normal appointment. Started having contractions that night, water broke at five am, baby delivered at seven pm.

I was 38 weeks with my son and was having irregular contractions. Had my membrane swept at 9AM and was admitted to the hospital with regular contractions at noon.

I had it done twice a week apart and neither time worked.
It's a 50-50 shot, good luck!!!!

I had it done at my 40+4 week appointment and went into labor two hours later :)
