Getting Nexplanon out?

I’ve had nexplanon for 4 years (1st one was Aug 2016-Oct 2017 and 2nd was Oct 2017 til now). It hasn’t affected me too badly but my periods are crazy and terrible. For example I got off my 9 day long period a week ago just for it to start day before yesterday. I’m torn between leaving it in and getting it out and tracking ovulation and using condoms. Lately I’ve been feeling like I don’t want all these hormones in my body. I’m 20 now and have had it since I was 16 I didn’t even have my period for 2 years before I got it.

What is y’alls experience with getting nexplanon removed before it’s time is up? I’ve heard stories of it being hard because the doctors try to convince you to keep it.
