TTC and your weight

Gunce

When I was trying to concieve, I was surprised to find how important the doctors felt my weight was. I was on the border of overweight and obese (hate this word btw - but it is a medical term), and never really felt that my weight was an issue. But one of my doctor would not even consider me for IVF unless I lost 15 lbs.

Of course, lots of women are overweight and have zero trouble having babies. But for a few - especially those of us with PCOS - it can become a real impediment.

Btw - being underweight can also be an issue. If your BMI is under 19 - you might also have a harder time becoming pregnant.
