Too young for my class!??

So I just moved into a new town and started grade 9 there. My homeroom class is GRADE 10 art!! I am literally the only grade 9 in the class and there’s this super cute guy who i think is single who sits near me but I’m too scared to talk to him... so I was keeping my grade a secret cause I didn’t wanna be treated like a baby in that class, we had a sub one day and she asked (VERY LOUDLY) “are you in grade 9??!” I said Yes and then everyone looked at me funny.... do you think my crush will like me even if he is a year older and dating a younger girl isn’t popular here?? I knew my grade would get out sooner or later but I am embarrassed that it had to be now, before I got to make a good rep for myself... now I will just be the lonely grade 9...😔😫
