When do doctors usually check your cervix?

Im 28 weeks pregnant. I was wondering when do the doctors usually check my cervix to see when i start dialating at what week?

I was offered starting at 36w but refusing them until I’m actually in labor and it’s actually necessary. There is no benefit and it carries risk.

Mine did today at 35 weeks but only because I was having horrible back pain and came in to be seen early. I’m not sure she would have checked otherwise since she said just as a precaution they were checking today.

My doctor won't check till 40 weeks unless you ask

Around 36 weeks is normal from what I understand, but if there is concern you are potentially going into preterm labor or whatnot they would check sooner.  Some practices don't routinely check at all.

My doctor asks if I want it checked at my 36 week appointment. I probably wont have her check until I'm 38 weeks though unless something comes up that I'm concerned about.
