Is 1 old enough to go to the movies? (Kids movie during the day)

My husband and I really want to take our son to see small foot for his birthday in October. He loves movies when we let him watch them. We would take him during the day (our theater offers films with lower volumes for kids) and sit near the door just in case.

Just take him. If he gets fussy you can leave/step out. Children benefit greatly from hearing words. 😊

My daughter is almost three and I have yet to take her to a movie theater. She doesn’t like to sit still for long but if she would I would take her. Depends on how well they do sitting for long periods of time without disrupting others. Which has been my concern. I mean you could always take breaks and get more popcorn etc whatever snacks in between so they don’t get bored of sitting, but then you could risk missing part of the movie. 🤷‍♀️ just depends.

Just depends on if your kid can sit still for an hour and a half. I know mine cant haha

I would just wonder if it's too loud in there for a one-year-old. Since its a kids movie though, it's probably fine.

I’ve been taking my son since around 1 and never had a problem! I’ve always gone during the day and sat by the door just in case.. he LOVES it!

My daughter is 2.5 and we still don’t really let her watch tv or movies. I know she couldn’t sit through a whole movie yet. Your child may be different. Use your best judgment and leave if you need to so others’ movie going experiences aren’t disturbed

I've taken my daughter to 3 or 4 movies since she was 2 months. We haven't gone since she was 11 months because we haven't had the time.
But if she'd fuss, I'd just stand to the side or back and hold her. Me standing stops her fussing. If she had continued, I'd walk out and calm her down.

I know for a fact my son wouldn’t sit still or be calm what so ever at a movie and he’s 1.5. I guess it depends on how your kid is and if you think they can handle it. I get a baby sitter when I want to go.
