In february, i started working for one of the busiest real estate teams in NJ. So far in 2015, 2 men have sold over $35 million. I am their assistant. They took me in and trained me before i even went to school so they were patient and i learned so much from them. I am now doing everything that the other assistant is doing who has over 15 years experience.

Thing is, i want to do my own thing. I want to make my own fortune, not just assist in making them millionares. On my interview, the other assistant who hired me told me pay was $14 an hr. I did the math and i am just getting paid $12.50/hr. My bi-weekly check for 41 hours per week is $844 which is NOT cutting it. Im just getting by every month. No extra $ to go out and enjoy life or save. The other assistants check is over $1600.

After taxes, i get paid $420 a week... Is that average? am i being unreasonable?

My plan is to quit my job in another year or so because i feel bad about quitting the team because they really need me...we are so busy! I just want to be my own boss and do my own thing. They wont let me be a salesperson on my own.....conflict of interest because i am their assistant so they are holding my license now.. they are good people to work for,( they even paid my licensing fees which was about $1000..)but imo, selfish when it comes to business...
