Shaving before labor?

Hey mamas,
37 weeks here and starting to prepare myself for labor! Has anyone heard from other moms, midwives or doctors if we should be shaving before labor? I usually do but am at a point where I can’t see and it’s hard to maneuver myself in the shower to even feel and shave. I know they will shave the top if you have a csection but I am aiming for a natural vaginal birth. Thank you!

I saw a post recently talk about how the natural oils in hair may help prevent tearing! I plan to trim it nice and short but not shave it right off - last thing I need after giving birth is any kind of post shave itch haha. I think it really comes down to personal choice.
I’m going to have my husband trim because I can see to save myself

I don’t think it matters to the doctors, they’ve seen it all. It comes down to if it makes you more comfortable IMO :)

My doc said trim is fine but try to refrain from full on shaving. The concern is for infected follicles. If a c-section is necessary they will use properly cleaned shaver to reduce risk of infection.

I just trim with one of these and a mirror. It’s good enough. (I tried to get my husband to help, but he was too scared— he said I’ve nicked my balls and it hurts too much 🙈😂)

You could always get waxed 💁🏻‍♀️that’s what I do since I haven’t been able to see down there for awhile lol

I’ve been blindly shaving by just trimming the edges so my underwater doesn’t pull and snag the hair, which is an AWFUL feeling, and I’m keeping whats on top short, more for hygiene then look. 
The way I see it, lots of women probably let this part of their body go during pregnancy and doctors and nurses have seen everything and I’ll never see them again after this, so who care, I mean, there is nothing attractive about what is about to go down, down there.

If you can stand the hair, then just let t grow. I can’t handle even a days worth of stubble, so I have to. 🙄 It’s a curse. 35 weeks and I still shave daily. My sister has seen tons of babies delivered and she said they genuinely don’t care about what your lady bits look like. Idk of that helps at all. 😬

If you can just leave it be. Honestly they don't care. I just tried to trim a few days ago and it's a joke down there lol. Should've just saved my breath

It doesnt matter if you do or not I usually shave but with my first I just trimmed that's what I plan on doing with this one also
