How/when did you tell your mom?

I had had a previous miscarriage and the owner our long time local family restaurant knew... well the day I planned out a surprise 60th for my mom with friends and family, I went to the restaurant early to decorate a bit and get people set up for the surprise. He came up to say hi and asked how things were going with starting a family. I told him about the positives I got that morning. Mistake lol! After the fun surprise, when gift opening started, he came out to hug my mom and wish her happy birthday. Lovely obtrusive Greek man that he is, he whispered in her ear and she spun towards me saying “really???” I got the moment on camera, but it ruined the surprise of my “happy birthday grandma” card 😝

My in-laws live far away, so hubbs sent them a cute "I love my grandparents" onesie with a gift message from us of "you'll need this in March!" It was a fun surprise for them and they called as soon as they got it.

This was with my first. Needless to say, we haven't been super close and she would rather have pets than kids, BUT... she has become a somewhat better grandma since she was born. I told her over text this time too and she was more excited for us.
