Personal trainer and bf

So I wanted to get a personal trainer, and my bf told me that If it’s a guy he wouldn’t be cool with that and would break up with me. I obviously respect the fact that he wouldn’t be comfortable but threatening to break up with me..? Does that seem alittle controlling and toxic? Or am I trippin? Lmao.
